Cruisin' down the river on a Saturday afternoon.....

Our last day in Prague was a warm, relaxed, cruisey one (literally). We wandered down to the Vltava River and joined a relaxing hour-long cruise up to the Charles Bridge, in the shadow (almost) of Prague Castle, going through a lock on the way there and back. The Vltara was, historically, extremely important in the development of Prague, placing it directly on the trade routes, as it joins with the Danube and eventually reaches the Baltic Sea.

On our return to shore we came across a local farmers’ market right at the river’s edge and had a cheap bur delicious meal of home-made sausage, mustard, shredded cabbage and roll, from a hot food stall, As we sat there enjoying our lunch and the view, we couldn’t think of anything else we’d rather be doing. It was another perfect day.

Tonight – our last meal in Prague, then on the train the in the morning for the 7-hour journey to Budapest.
